Optimed Research, located in Columbus, Ohio, is currently recruiting patients who suffer from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease or COPD. Dr. Donald McNeil, Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Allergy, and Asthma, is the Medical Director at Optimed. Along with Dr. Philip N. Rancitelli – who is Optimed’s Sub-Investigator – and a team of clinical nurses, and coordinators, Optimed has more than 100 years of clinical experience.
As one of the most common lung diseases, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease includes conditions such as emphysema and chronic bronchitis. COPD is a general term used to describe the long-term diseases that cause problems with breathing but is now the preferred name for any long-term illness that affects the airways and may get worse over time.
Optimed’s Clinical Research Trial for patients who suffer from COPD is a specialized trial that allows qualified participants the opportunity to receive study-related medical care, assessments, and medication at no cost. Insurance is not necessary and participants are compensated for their time and travel.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has published statistics that show that approximately 9.9 million Americans suffer from chronic bronchitis, and 4.3 million adults are stricken with emphysema.
